What is Robotic Process Automation?

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) refers to the use of software robots or "bots" to automate repetitive and rule-based tasks in business processes. RPA services allows organizations to streamline their operations, increase efficiency, and reduce human error by automating routine tasks that were previously performed by humans.

RPA bots are typically software programs that mimic human interactions with digital systems and applications. These bots can interact with user interfaces or system user interfaces such as application programming interfaces (APIs) , perform data entry, manipulate data, extract information from documents, generate reports, and perform various other tasks. RPA bots are designed to follow predefined rules and workflows, enabling them to handle structured and semi-structured data.

RPA bots can interact with various software applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software, databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications.

Organizations use RPA to automate repetitive tasks such as data entry, data validation, data reconciliation, invoice processing, payroll processing, report generation, and many other manual and time-consuming activities. By automating these processes, RPA frees up human employees to focus on more strategic and value-added tasks that require human judgment and decision-making.

RPA is not limited to a specific industry and can be applied across various sectors, including finance, insurance, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, and many others. It offers organizations the potential to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, enhance accuracy, and provide better customer experiences.

It's important to note that RPA is different from full-scale robotics or physical robots used in manufacturing or industrial settings. RPA focuses on automating digital tasks and processes, while physical robots are designed to perform physical actions in the physical world.
